As Andre says see if you can find and attach the vmware-log. If you can compress the file that would even be better. However I'm kinda of afraid that the suggestions may fail. One other thing however. Go into the Windows Server 2012 folder and take a screen shot of the folders files. . Let see if the the required .vmdk (and just as important the .vmx file) exist. If the .vmx file exists try clicking on that in Explorer - that should bring up the VM and it may start normally. The only time I've seen that error is if there is no bootable meadia attached - mainly I forgot to point to the iso as the CDROM temporaility or the .iso or CDROM/DVD is corrupt itself .
