I'm running VCloud Director 1.5.2.x with a MS SQL 2008 R2 backend (2003 R2). I'm gearing up to migrate the director and VC DB's to a new SQL 2008 R2 (2008 R2 OS) server this weekend.
What I'm wondering is do I need to power down running VApp's before migrating the database?
Is VM/VApp networking effected if VC and/or director is shut off?
I can not find any official documentation on this process. The info I have found just states to stop the service and move the database.
Stopping the service should effectively freeze the state of the DB. The networking is configured at the host. In thoery there is no need to power down running VApps
Thoughts?
Thanks
