Our shared drives are performing very poorly. They sometimes take 2-3 minutes to connect to folders but other times they connect immediately . It seems to very intermittent. This can happen upon first access to the drive itself or when accessing sub folders on the drive. It is not just one machine in the network, it is all of them (58). I have two servers on the network that are not virtualized yet and they can be accessed with no issues at all. This issue has only started in the past two weeks after about a year of smooth operation. I have tried the DNS name, IP address and the FQDN but either why I map it, it has the same sluggish performance. Any tips or recommendations?
All machines are on a domain with the servers being located locally but going out to be verified to a remote domain controller.
