Who does it is not the point. I think all of those companies you mentioned certainly don't always communicate what they are currently working on, but they do a much better job at pushing out patches to known issues in between official "releases".
Maybe I missed the "OK, we get it - yes there is an issue, and yes, we are working to correct it" post, so sorry if it's there and I didn't catch it. I just got frustrated with the "you'll get it when you get it" type response when yet another poster asked when he/she could expect a fix.
